Technologies

Biopharmaceutical technologies, end to end.

From biosimilars and recombinant proteins to exosomes, liposomes and cell & gene therapy — Theertha develops the platforms and processes that turn advanced biology into scalable products.

Platforms

One integrated technology base, nine areas of depth.

Theertha's platforms share a laboratory, a data trail and a team. Read top to bottom — each area below builds on the one before it, from the biology through to the handoff.

01 — Biosimilars

Biosimilar development, clone to characterization

Theertha develops biosimilars across microbial and mammalian expression systems — a broad pipeline spanning insulins, GLP-1 analogues, therapeutic proteins and monoclonal antibodies, each built on scalable, technology-led processes.

Every programme runs from clone development through analytical characterization in one continuous workflow, so the comparability data and the process documentation come from the same bench.

02 — Recombinant proteins

Expression, fermentation and purification

From construct to purified protein, we express, ferment, purify and characterize recombinant proteins on both microbial and mammalian platforms.

Host, vector, media and purification train are chosen with scale-up in mind, so a construct that performs at the bench keeps performing at pilot volume.

03 — Peptides

PepXen™ — high-expression peptide platform

Our proprietary PepXen™ platform expresses recombinant peptides at high yield in a smaller footprint — more product per batch, less volume to process, and better economics than conventional routes.

Because the peptides are expressed rather than chemically synthesized, sequences scale cleanly and carry a consistent impurity profile from development into supply.

04 — Advanced modalities

Exosomes and extracellular vesicles

Theertha works on extracellular vesicles — exosomes — for research and regenerative applications, from cell culture and isolation through characterization and formulation.

The same integrated cell-culture and analytical base that supports our protein work underpins vesicle isolation and quantification.

05 — Delivery

Liposomal and lipid-nanoparticle formulation

We develop liposomal and lipid-nanoparticle formulations — encapsulation, particle characterization and formulation development toward advanced delivery, including mRNA.

Formulation is treated as part of the product, not an afterthought: particle size, encapsulation efficiency and stability are characterized as the formulation is built.

06 — Cell & gene therapy

Plasmid, viral-vector and cell-based technologies

Theertha supports advanced-modality programmes from construct to characterization — plasmid DNA, viral-vector and cell-based technologies — alongside a catalogue of supporting reagents.

See our cell & gene therapy reagents for the process-development materials behind this work.

07 — Process

Upstream and downstream process development

Process development engineered for high titre and recovery, built on platform technology that scales predictably from bench to pilot.

Upstream and downstream are developed together, so a gain in expression is not lost again at purification.

08 — Analytical

Method development and characterization

Method development, qualification and validation — monograph-based or in-house — supported by orthogonal product characterization on current-generation instrumentation.

HPLC/UPLC, electrophoresis, RT-PCR and cell-based assays give a rounded picture of identity, purity and potency.

09 — Transfer

Documentation-first technology transfer

We transfer methods and processes between laboratories, sites and manufacturers — structured so that nothing is lost at the handoff.

Every transfer ships as a complete, continuous documentation package rather than a set of results the receiving site has to re-derive.
